As Artist in Residence at the DuMaurier Jazz Festival, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Brian conducted workshops on improvisation and performed solo and with his trio and quartet. He has received arts grants from the Canada Council for studies in electronic music and for studies with noted composer DOUG RILEY.

Brian’s compositions and arrangements have been featured on CBS Sunday Morning, National Public Radio, Radio Finland, Radio Brandenburg (Germany) and numerous Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) programs including Jazz Beat, Jazz Radio Canada, Identities (GABRIEL AWARD), Morningside, The Entertainers, Music Maritimes and various Jazz specials (1978 - present).

Thurs. May 26, 2011 - In commemoration of the 70th birthday of the legendary John Lennon - Steinway and Sons unveiled the Imagine Series Limited Edition Piano at the Steinway Piano Gallery in Coral Gables, FL. Brian was honored to perform selections from the John Lennon songbook on this inspiring, unique instrument.

May 2011 - Brian's arrangement of "Airegin", recorded by the legendary Tito Puente is included in Jazz: The Smithsonian Anthology. It's track # 610!

Brian’s recent recordings include the debut CD from the venerable South Florida Jazz Orchestra (SFJO), “The Very Thought Of You” from award winning vocalist, Nicole Henry and Sylvia Bennett's acclaimed "Songs From The Heart" featuring the 3 tenors, Boots Randolph, Kirk Whalum and Ed Calle.

From 2007 until 2019, Brian, along with Jazz legend, Ira Sullivan (Brian’s music mentor, associate and close friend), completed 12 years of guiding the Honors Jazz Ensembles at the Young Musicians Camp (University of Miami).
